Cause and Effect, The Spiral Pattern, and Allowing

For my little boy, life is effortless and uncomplicated

Some of my recent musings:

It's amazing when you really step back and appreciate every moment that you have and have had. We as souls have chosen to experience this linear existence of cause and effect. What we do in the now and how it will affect everything around us holds such promise or disaster depending on what we choose. It comes down to realizing that we and we alone are responsible for our actions, reactions and yes, even non-action in itself has consequences.

You cannot possibly know the outcome of everything you do. You can do the best with what you know at the moment and remember that there are always possibilities. If you have found yourself in a bind, be open to miracles. In the meantime follow your heart and intuition. Honor your beliefs and what you know to be right. Do not allow yourself to be overwhelmed by negative feelings. Let them pass through you so you can own them, not the other way around. Remember who you are and why you have come to experience this life. It is very important that we remain calm and stay in a state of clarity. Otherwise, getting swept up into the drama only hinders our growth.

I realize sometimes you must do what you must in order to protect yourself or those you love. Other times you must make a stand because you can see how your decision affects the ultimate outcome. Some call these people martyrs. Some call them heroes. I would like to take a moment and pay respect to these people's bravery, from the soldier on the front line to the housewife barely getting by, thank you and bless you.

There is a powerful need to be in balance between the knowing that this is all an illusion, and at the same time being grounded within this reality and its consequences. After all, we have come to "play the game" by our own free will. We are here to learn, to experience, and grow. Yes, this does include the full spectrum of emotion.

I've realized that old saying is true...

"It's not about winning or losing. It's how you play the game."

Don't allow your outside circumstances to define who you are, or whether or not you have won or lost. Your reality is constantly occurring within. You and you alone hold the power to define what it is. It's always about your perception, rather than the judgment of others that matters in the end. We can be our worst judges. If you know you are on your path, stay true and be open to good in your life.

Ever find yourself in similar situations over and over again? Either it gets better or it gets worse each time. Depending on who we are talking about, it  may have to do with money, relationships, substance abuse, staying out of trouble, or even moving from home to home. Everyone has experienced this no matter how unlikely it may appear on the surface. Take a moment and think of your pattern...

Life is made up of many patterns. Observe the nature of the world we live in. From the smallest to the largest... the micro and macro. What makes us think that our experiences in life would be any different from the patterns in the world and universe?

Two things that are certain are death and change. Some of the darkest times I have experienced seemed to hold no hope to the casual observer,  but held not only light at the end of the tunnel--there was a gift waiting for me there. In a sense it is a symbolic death followed by a renewal of life. Everyday is a cleansing process. It's a matter of elevating yourself to the next level. Like a spiral, only each time you come back around you move up or down depending on you. Do you resist what is, or do you simply let go and flow? This allows new ways of thinking and opportunities into your reality.

How do you know if you are resisting or allowing the flow? First, you must be truthful with yourself. Second, you must be aware of your emotions. If you are feeling "bad" you are resisting. If you are feeling "good" or "neutral" you are allowing. This is not about thinking of the outcome of a situation. It is about opening to new opportunities of change within yourself which will affect the immediate world around you. This is where miracles occur.

Yes this is related to the law of attraction, faith and the power of intentions, but more then anything, in your belief in yourself to manifest your reality. We are all energy, everything is energy. You simply consciously redirect the flow of the energy thereby transforming its nature and function through the combination of your thoughts and emotions. Remain patient and open and have faith that that it will be this or something better. Trust that the universe has your best interests at heart, no matter what the situation looks like. Wow, that can be a tough one! I know, but I am telling you that it is well worth it.

A bad situation suddenly turns into a great opportunity that you may have not been aware of at first glance. I know this has at least happened to you once in your life. Take a moment and think about it. Most of the things we worry about never occur. Keep in mind all that time and energy wasted upon something that never happened. I wouldn't call this living life to the fullest, would you?

To quote Epictetus - "There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will."

Which brings us to knowing when to let go. There was a saying when I was growing up, a lot of you may have heard it before as well. "Let go and let God." I remind myself of this. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the "hows," "whens," "wheres," and "whys" that we end up blocking these answers.

Despite the many so-called challenges I have already seen in my relatively short life, I may still have a ways to go, but to that I say: Bring it on. At this point, it can only get better.

Wishing you well in the adventure of life,
- Matthew

Many ways to give thanks and gratitude

"Today is a great day..."

This is something I should remind myself to say each and every morning. You know what? It does make a difference. I remember at one of my first jobs there was this guy who was so cheery. He sorta reminded me of Santa Claus. I wondered what this guy's secret was. Even on a "bad" work day he continued the way he started. So one day during lunch, I asked him about this. He told me, each morning before he wakes up he pumps each fist up in the air towards the ceiling while in bed. He alternates each fist while saying, "I FEEL GOOD!!! I FEEL FINE!!! I FEEL THIS WAY ALL THE TIME!!!"

Now you can imagine how his wife must have felt when he shouted this each morning. He told me that at first she couldn't stand it and now it's just so part of the morning routine she reminds him to do it. Maybe she just found feeling good contagious. I never forgot that, obviously.

Today was sorta like that for me with an added twist. I drove streets I have driven many times before. As I did I gave thanks for each experience I have had. From shopping at Smart and Final and Target to the mini airport that offers $99 courses on how to fly a small plane. Granted I haven't taken the lessons but I am so thankful for the thought of it and the feel-good emotions that pass through me. I thought to myself, "Wow this is a blessing in itself."

On the way home I even gave thanks to everyone who slowed me down or cut me off or even walked in front of me. I thought to myself, "I am always at the right place at the right time; all things for a reason, right?" I got home safely. I gave thanks for this and my parking on the street. When I got home, I cleaned out my wallet, tossing old receipts. I felt this was another opportunity to give thanks and gratitude for all the items I was able to purchase and use/share. Afterwards, I threw the receipts away with kindness. I felt I really gained something here, not just an "ordinary" experience for the day.

I invite you to give it a try and see how your day goes. Share your experience. Let's inspire each other. ;)

With love and light always,
MJD

Looking for more insight on an issue?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Many of you already know that I am a professional hypnotist; now I'd like to tell you about something else you might be interested in.

Since I can remember, I've had a talent for giving intuitive readings. For a long time I haven't shared these gifts outside of friends and family. After much support and encouragement, I've decided to give readings on a per donation basis.

I have my own set of oracle cards that I made 5 years ago. These can be used with the reading if you like. I tell you what I see and feel, as well as other impressions that come through.

I'd like to use my energy and gifts to help people in any way that I can. If you want an intuitive reading, just let me know--we can do it over Skype no matter where you are in the world.

I usually don't share my dreams, but...

I dreamt about an earthquake. I also saw a plane crash and explode, hitting the earth. Then I saw Africans drinking what water they could from the ground near a tree. Afterwards, I saw the water evaporate quickly, as well as some grass disappear as though the frame speed was increased. I also saw Americans or Europeans scrounging around, looking for whatever food and supplies they could. I kept getting the message to make sure we have water and something to purify it with. Most disturbing of all and most symbolic of these images were of horses starving. They swallowed whole other large four-legged mammals. C.G.I. could not do what I saw justice.

There is a message here, perhaps related to another dream I had.

A week ago, I dreamt of a coyote on a leash, as well as a crow. The crow was angry and attacking a woman. I explained to him I was there to set him free. He calmed down and allowed me to remove his collar. I have my own ideas of what this means personally and on a wider scale. To my brothers and sisters out there, if anyone would like to share their own interpretation, please do so.

Living in a World of Possibilities

I am feeling really good about the next chapter in my life. Ever since I no longer work for a company or corporation, I am finding it so empowering to live a life where I know my experience is in my hands. Even when certain things happen that I initially may find not so favorable, I know that how I react is my choice.

Birds do not dictate how the wind blows, they merely go with the flow. Imagine if the bird does not do so... splat. This is how I have learned to approach life.

I used to resist change, but I have discovered that change is a friend. Everything is, depending on how we choose to respond. I'd rather be in the driver's seat than in the passenger's when it comes to my life. How about you?

I think this is what happens a lot of the time: We become too dependent on the world and on the point of view of the world others hold as truth.

What is truth?

I see truth as a belief that is given so much power, it becomes real over time. Even science holds certain beliefs as truth, until proven otherwise. This is why it helps to examine whether what we believe in was simply passed down to us, or if it truly resonates.

If something is working very well for you, and you're happy and aren't impinging on anyone's rights or free will, wouldn't you say that's all that matters for you to continue doing it?

We live in a world of possibilities rather than a world of impossibilities. This is a world of inclusion, if you choose to view it that way. I'd rather deliberately and consciously attract good into my life and I'm glad to say it is working.

Sometimes, events don't unfold the way the ego holds ideal. I enjoy the great "mystery" behind how things just fall into place if we let them. If we knew everything, where would the fun be in this Earth adventure?

Wishing you well,
Matthew

Powerful Hypnosis CDs/MP3s

I recently put up a sample of a custom hypnosis recording. This one in particular is about allowing more money and abundance into your life. I am very pleased with the master version. Keep in mind this is specifically for a client. and there are many more powerful suggestions in the full version.

As of today I have two musical backing tracks that I have made to lay the suggestions over. Both have been run through a brainwave synchronizer or a "delta filter" to easily induce an altered state of consciousness. Combine this with hypnotic instructions and you have a powerful tool to access the subconscious mind. From this point it's mind over body.

I am excited to get started on more musical tracks, as well as create a catalog of general hypnosis CDs/MP3s for you all. At the moment I am still in the process of moving (as I mentioned in my previous blog post) but I am still open for over the phone or Skype appointments. Skype is a wonderful communication tool; it's free to sign up and easy to use.

I make sure that my rates are affordable for anyone genuinely seeking to improve their life. If you or someone you know is interested, feel free to contact me at matthewjacobdaniel@gmail.com

I'll see you again soon,
Matthew

Leaving the Baggage Behind

As I am in the middle of packing up my stuff so I can leave the city and be closer to nature, I realize more and more how important it is to simplify.

I mean, how can I travel lightly if I take with me all the things I've accumulated in this lifetime? Be it a guitar or a piece of furniture, I see that it does me good to ask myself whether I need it or if I simply want it. Then I won't be so weighted down as I drive from one location to the next.

And boy, am I learning. Since I left my childhood home, I've moved almost ten times in the span of eight years. I've thought once or twice that perhaps it would be a while before the next move... that I could, for the sheer joy of it, collect a few items, like musical instruments.

Although the thought of parting with some of the instruments I did get has brought up feelings of sadness from time to time, I have observed that I always get back the equivalent of what I gave up OR even better. I might have had to lighten my load so I could travel more safely, but I always receive what I need when I need it.

Thus I have come to trust that when I am being guided to let go, it is for the best; that I can easily have back what I once thought I lost, and that I actually never did lose anything I truly needed.

After all, I have found again in my possession or at my fingertips the same books, movies, music and other things I once already sold or gave away. The magic in my experience is that a lot of the time, I'd find these same objects not by repurchasing them, but by stumbling upon them, like as a gift.

There is a sense of wonder in what's just around the corner. I suppose I've always seen myself as an explorer. I really do have that life. I am not dreaming it. I think on a deep soul level I understand this need and created situations to mirror it back to me. Perhaps this is so that I may grow and experience what life has to offer in the fullest sense. The great mystery. Hell, if I had it all figured out I'd be bored to tears by now, and so I am thankful. It really comes down to perspective and will--the will to go on and keep a positive outlook.

Most things we worry about never happen. Entertaining such thoughts all the time can be rather tiresome. Having a sense of adventure on the other hand gives you something to look forward to. We don't know how much time we have, so I say, let's make the most of it, shall we?

Thanks for joining me today and I will see you again soon.

Doing what I love: Spirit Therapy

It's been a little while since I wrote here but I'd like to welcome you to a new chapter in my life. I am currently following my dreams of conducting professional hypnosis sessions with clients.

I've always been interested in the metaphysical and the spiritual, hypnosis included. I remember during grade school recess I'd read books about ancient civilizations and northern Native American tribes. My favorite TV show at the time was "Sightings," a show that focused on the paranormal and unexplained. I was immediately drawn in.

As I became a teenager my studies broadened. I began to explore my psychic abilities and potential. I also dove deeper into my subconscious. I've always believed in past lives. I suppose because I've been involved with this type of work in many other lives that it just feels so natural. I also had intense dreams with information that I had no idea how I would have obtained during my waking life. This was very compelling, to say the least. Very curious as I was, I continued to explore and research the unknown.

I started out doing healing sessions and oracle card readings for a select few. But I never felt these were my passions in the metaphysical field, so I asked myself what has consistently been present in my life that I care deeply about. Other than my music, I discovered it was my interest in past lives and spirit communication. "Luckily" I found myself in love with a woman who shares these same passions and interests. Early in our relationship, Lea and I began holding private spirit contact or higher-self sessions. This began with a cleansing process, and relaxation, which led to trance communication.

I'd like to point out that this is something that we all have the ability to access. We simply remove the wall or filter between the conscious and subconscious mind. This is where hypnosis comes into play, combining science with the spiritual. There have been many cases of evidence to support past lives but I am not here to prove this. I am here because I believe there is much potential for healing in hypnosis for those who have tried other avenues without success. This is why I decided to pursue hypnosis on a professional level.

Lea and I made the decision to undergo training with Dick Sutphen (www.dicksutphen.com). Mr. Sutphen is a contemporary pioneer in the field, working with hypnosis since the mid-1970s. We had a wonderful time learning the skills necessary to professionally facilitate a hypnosis session.

And now I'd like to share with you what we have learned so that you may experience the healing benefits of hypnosis.

I call what I do "Spirit Therapy" because together we work on the spiritual level to find the cause of anything you are not quite happy with in your life.

Thank you for stopping by today; I may be updating again very soon!
